InMyEar

Privacy Policy

Effective September 14, 2026

InMyEar is designed to help users understand and reflect on conversations they choose to provide. This Privacy Policy explains what information InMyEar processes, how it is used, when it is shared with third-party service providers, how it may be retained, and the choices available to users.

Information you provide

When you use InMyEar, you may choose to provide:

InMyEar processes this information only when you choose to submit it for analysis. You should only submit information that you are comfortable providing and that you have the right to provide.

How information is used

Conversation text and screenshots you submit are used to provide the conversation analysis and response suggestions that you request through InMyEar.

Submitted content may be used to generate:

InMyEar does not sell submitted conversation text or screenshots and does not use submitted conversation content for advertising.

AI processing and data sharing

InMyEar uses OpenAI, a third-party artificial intelligence service, to generate conversation analysis.

When you request an analysis, the information sent for processing may include:

This information is shared with OpenAI only for the purpose of generating the conversation analysis and suggested responses requested by you.

InMyEar uses a Supabase Edge Function as a server-side intermediary. Submitted content is transmitted from the InMyEar app to the Supabase Edge Function and is then sent to the OpenAI API for processing. The generated result is returned to InMyEar.

Your permission before AI processing

Before conversation text or screenshots are sent for AI analysis, InMyEar displays an AI Data Sharing notice explaining that the submitted information will be shared with OpenAI for analysis.

You may choose:

Permission is requested before the applicable AI-processing request is sent. You may decline permission for any request by selecting Not Now.

OpenAI

OpenAI provides the artificial intelligence processing used by InMyEar.

OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in to sharing data for model improvement.

OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for a limited period for security, abuse-prevention, operational, or legal purposes in accordance with its applicable policies. OpenAI currently states that API inputs and outputs are generally removed from its systems after 30 days unless retention is required by law or another applicable retention arrangement applies.

Supabase

InMyEar uses Supabase to provide backend infrastructure, including server-side Edge Functions and database functionality required to operate the service.

Conversation text and screenshots are transmitted through Supabase infrastructure when an analysis is requested.

InMyEar does not intentionally write the contents of submitted conversation text or screenshots to its application database after an analysis request is completed.

Third-party data protection

InMyEar uses third-party service providers only as necessary to operate the app and provide requested features. Third-party providers that receive user data are required, through their applicable terms, privacy commitments, and security obligations, to provide the same or equivalent protection for user data as described in this Privacy Policy and required by applicable platform and privacy requirements.

InMyEar does not authorize OpenAI or Supabase to use submitted conversation content for advertising on behalf of InMyEar.

Rate limiting and security information

To protect the service from abuse and excessive automated requests, InMyEar may process a network identifier associated with an analysis request.

For rate-limiting purposes, InMyEar stores a cryptographic hash derived from that identifier together with limited request timing information rather than storing the raw network identifier in the rate-limit database.

Old rate-limit records are periodically removed when they are no longer needed.

Data retention

InMyEar is designed to minimize retention of submitted conversation content. InMyEar does not intentionally maintain a permanent application database of conversation text or screenshots submitted for analysis.

Third-party service providers may temporarily process or retain information in accordance with their security, operational, legal, and data-retention requirements.

Information maintained for security or rate-limiting purposes is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

Data deletion and privacy requests

You may stop providing information to InMyEar at any time.

Because InMyEar does not intentionally maintain a permanent database of submitted conversation text or screenshots, there may be no stored conversation content under InMyEar's control to delete after an analysis has been completed.

If you would like to ask whether InMyEar retains information associated with your use of the service, request deletion of information that InMyEar controls, or make another privacy-related request, contact support.inmyear@gmail.com.

Withdrawing consent

InMyEar requests permission before submitted conversation content is shared with OpenAI for AI analysis.

You may decline consent for future processing by selecting Not Now when the AI Data Sharing notice appears or by choosing not to request further analyses.

Declining consent prevents that analysis request from being sent to OpenAI. Consent already given for a completed request cannot undo processing that has already occurred, but you may decline all future requests.

Security

InMyEar uses reasonable technical safeguards intended to protect information transmitted through the service. No method of electronic transmission, processing, or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Third-party content

Conversation text and screenshots may contain information about other people. You are responsible for determining whether it is appropriate for you to submit that information to InMyEar for analysis.

Children's privacy

InMyEar is not directed to children under 13, and InMyEar does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe that a child under 13 has submitted personal information through InMyEar, contact support.inmyear@gmail.com.
